Smoking rates among young people 2000-2010

Data from Cancer Research UK. 
Rates of smoking among young people have been falling in the last ten years.  But there are some fascinating differences between young men and young women.  Historically men smoked more than women but the recent trends among 20+ year olds suggest that this relation is being reversed.  
Smoking has fallen faster in men, from around 40% to 25%
   Among teenagers, the rates are closely matched.

Rates of starting smoking among younger teenagers are also falling. Here are the data for the last ten years.  Here the rates among boys and girls of school age appear to be converging.
Smoking is falling with some contrasts between the genders.
